The Outpost is a boutique mountain lodging experience and event space on

Big Bear Lake's beautiful North Shore. 

Our cabins offer the perfect setting for a weekend getaway with family and friends or a romantic stay with your special someone. Each of our five cabins has a personality all its own. Amenities in each cabin include wood-burning stone fireplaces, hairdryers, clothing irons, WiFi, smart TVs, Direct TV, record players and a selection of records, board games, charcoal grills and fully equipped kitchens.


This side of Big Bear Lake provides an escape from traffic and a gateway to adventure. Fish along the shoreline, cycle around the lake, enjoy world-class bird watching, hike the Pacific Coast Trail or take Rim of the World Highway to access some of the best OHV trails and off-roading in Southern California.

At The Outpost, you'll be close enough for a quick drive to the shops, restaurants, ski resorts and attractions of downtown Big Bear Lake, but far enough away to enjoy the solitude of the San Bernardino Mountains.

The Outpost provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic destination wedding in an utterly tranquil space, surrounded by tall pines and the stunning San Bernardino mountains. Bring the area's breathtaking natural beauty into your celebration with a romantic outdoor ceremony. Later, gather around the fire pit and share memories from the day. We'll work with you to reimagine our property and make our space feel like your own.

PET POLICY

Dog Friendly Cabins

Are you planning to bring your four-legged friend? We sure hope so!


The Outpost is dog-friendly and the perfect location for furry guests. We charge a $20/night cleaning fee per dog and provide dog towels for use in each cabin. (We know they like to jump in the lake, too.) We ask that you please pick up after your pups while on the property and that you let us know if you leave them alone in your cabin. The surrounding area offers so much outdoor fun for all, we doubt you'll want to keep them cooped up inside, anyway.

Our owner-led off-road trail guiding experiences take you deep into the San Bernardino Mountains on routes tailored to your experience and group size — from scenic forest roads to technical climbs and high-alpine ridgelines with sweeping lake views. You’ll ride a curated network of fire roads and singletrack, with insider stops and just the right balance of challenge and flow.


This isn’t a follow-the-leader tour. It’s a personalized, small-group experience designed to help you ride better, explore farther and see Big Bear in a new way.
